As described in the course catalog, this course covers group theory (to include finite Abelian groups, isomorphism theorems, matrix groups, and permutation groups), ring theory (to include ideals, principal ideal domains, and unique factorization), and field theory (to include field extensions and finite fields).

Homework
There will be one homework assignment given each week, usually assigned on Wednesday and due by the start of class the following Wednesday. Assignments will be submitted via Gradescope, available through Canvas. There will also be one preliminary assignment given before each class in a video lecture.
