Math 579: Combinatorics (Fall 2020)

Textbook:
A Walk Through Combinatorics, 3rd Edition, by Miklos Bona.
As described in the course catalog, this course covers permutations, combinations, generating functions, recurrence relations, and inclusion-exclusion. Other topics and applications, such as Polya's theory of counting, will be covered as time permits.

Homework
There will be one homework assignment given each week, usually assigned on Thursday and due by the start of class the following Thursday. Assignments will be submitted via Gradescope, available through Canvas. There will also be one preliminary assignment given before each class in a video lecture.
